This year’s summer reading program theme is “A Universe of Stories.” This year we will have events featuring Professor Watermelon, the Patoka Lake Birds and Animals, and Silly Safaris. We will even earn library bucks to use at the Scholastic Book Fair, which is coming to the library! The summer reading program is geared for preschool-aged children through 6th grade.
Programs are held on Tuesdays in June and July. There are two sessions: 11:30 am for Preschool – K and 1:00 pm for Grades 1 – 6.
We have so much fun things going on this week and next week at the library! We hope you’ll join us!
All this week, we’re having “Ugly” Christmas Sweater week! Stop by the library wearing your Christmas Sweater, and have your picture taken in front of our holiday backdrop. If you let us take your picture in your Christmas Sweater for our Facebook page, we’ll even give you a prize! One person has already won this week, and you could be next!

Thank you to WTIU and Kaitlen Allen for the children’s iPads! Each iPad is filled with children’s educational games, mainly for preschool and lower elementary children. These iPads are available for children to play with at the library (not for checkout). We will also be using them during our Storytime last and events. Stop by the library with your children to see one of the iPads!
