Thank you to everyone who has participated in the Summer Reading Program! We had a great time at our summer-end party with Silly Safaris! Here are a few pictures from the program:
Don’t forget: July 22-26 is our Scholastic Book Fair week! If you have Book Bucks, you may use them for books. We will also accept cash or check for school supplies and other items. Book Bucks were generously provided through a Round Up grant from Orange County REMC. Thank you Orange County REMC!
The parking lot is still available (Thank you, DeWitt Insurance!) and the rain chances are low Saturday morning so the Farmers Market/Plant Swap is still on!
The library is offering a place for those with extra produce, flowers & plants to connect with those that want to purchase local products. The library is not responsible for the quality, availability or condition of what is offered nor is it profiting in any way. The hope is to bring those that have and don’t need and those that need and don’t have together.
Set up in the area to the west of the library and behind DeWitt Insurance at the corner of 37 & Water St. & be ready for business at 10 AM. We’ll run till 2 pm or till everything is gone…which ever comes first. If no one sets up, then it’s canceled. Please don’t call the library to ask. The staff cannot see the parking lot and won’t be able to monitor it. There will be representatives from the library in the lot.
You’re invited to our library event! 4-H Extension will be at the library on Tuesday, June 18! 4-H Extension presents “Maker Spaces”, and they will have something special for us to make! We’re really excited! The free event starts at 1:00 pm and is for ALL AGES. We hope to see you here!
You’re invited to join us on a summer long adventure! We’re reading children’s books all summer long to earn book bucks. Why? Because the Scholastic Book Fair is coming to the library! When we read the books, we earn book bucks. Then, we can use the book bucks to buy books from the book fair!
The Scholastic Book Fair will be here during the week of July 22 – July 26.
Join us for this special Summer Reading Program in June and July! Sign ups are throughout the month of May. We hope to see you here!
We want to thank REMC for their grant for this! Without their help, we would not be able to have book bucks or the Scholastic Book Fair. Thank you so much REMC!
You’re invited! We’re having a Summer Reading Kickoff with Professor Watermelon. This will be on Tuesday, May 28 at 1:00 pm (ALL AGES are welcome!) Professor Watermelon is a children’s book author and teacher who travels the country motivating children to enjoy learning.
We’ve started our Summer Reading Challenge for Adults and Teens! Stop by the library to get a challenge card. Read one book per category; have the card stamped by the library for each book that you read; and when your card is filled, you could win a prize! The deadline for the Reading Challenge is Monday, September 9, so there’s plenty of time to read.
We have so much fun things going on this week and next week at the library! We hope you’ll join us!
All this week, we’re having “Ugly” Christmas Sweater week! Stop by the library wearing your Christmas Sweater, and have your picture taken in front of our holiday backdrop. If you let us take your picture in your Christmas Sweater for our Facebook page, we’ll even give you a prize! One person has already won this week, and you could be next!
Join us at the library this Friday at 11:30 am for Storytime! We’re reading “Snow Party” by Harriet Ziefert and making a snowkid! Storytimes are every Tuesday and Friday at 11:30. We’d love to see you here!
This Saturday, December 15th, Frost the Snowman is coming to the library!!!! Visit the library from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm to take a picture with Frosty. Please bring your own camera for a picture with Frosty. We’re also having a book giveaway and refreshments too!
Next Saturday, December 22, at 11:00 am, we are having a winter storytime! We’ll read a story and do a craft. We hope you’ll join us!
Make plans to be here Saturday morning (Nov. 3) at 11 for “Stories with Miss Glenda!”. This month’s story will be the “Woman Who Swallowed A Pie”. Kids will use props to help them remember the story and will make their own craft so they can tell the story at home. HOW FUN IS THAT?? They will LOVE it! (and it’s educational!)
