You’re invited to join us on a summer long adventure! We’re reading children’s books all summer long to earn book bucks. Why? Because the Scholastic Book Fair is coming to the library! When we read the books, we earn book bucks. Then, we can use the book bucks to buy books from the book fair!
The Scholastic Book Fair will be here during the week of July 22 – July 26.

You’re invited! Our Summer Reading Program has a great event this year from Patoka Lake Visitor’s Center. Patoka Lake presents “Strange Nature” at the library on Tuesday, June 4. The free program is for ALL AGES at 1:00 pm. Wondering what “Strange Nature” they’ll present? Stop by and see!
You’re invited! We’re having a Summer Reading Kickoff with Professor Watermelon. This will be on Tuesday, May 28 at 1:00 pm (ALL AGES are welcome!) Professor Watermelon is a children’s book author and teacher who travels the country motivating children to enjoy learning.
We’ve started our Summer Reading Challenge for Adults and Teens! Stop by the library to get a challenge card. Read one book per category; have the card stamped by the library for each book that you read; and when your card is filled, you could win a prize! The deadline for the Reading Challenge is Monday, September 9, so there’s plenty of time to read.
You’re invited! Join us on Thursday, May 16 at 6 pm for a Family History Q&A with Becky Gardner, the Orange County Genealogist. Bring your “Brick Walls” in your family history research.
This year’s summer reading program theme is “A Universe of Stories.” This year we will have events featuring Professor Watermelon, the Patoka Lake Birds and Animals, and Silly Safaris. We will even earn library bucks to use at the Scholastic Book Fair, which is coming to the library! The summer reading program is geared for preschool-aged children through 6th grade.
Programs are held on Tuesdays in June and July. There are two sessions: 11:30 am for Preschool – K and 1:00 pm for Grades 1 – 6.

Thank you to the Friends of the Library for purchasing our new Swank Movie Showing License! We’re going to show movies throughout the next year.
The movies are FREE to attend. Remember children under 13 MUST have an adult with them. There is a limit of 20 attendees. Bring snacks and drinks in containers with lids (bottles that can be closed, cups with lids) if you’d like but NO ALCOHOL in any container!
