Indiana Bicentennial Barn Quilt

Carol Daugherty is standing next the the Indiana Bicentennial Barn Quilt. Carol stitched the Orange County piece of the quilt, and the barn from Orange County is the Bowen’s barn. If you would like to see it, stop by the library.

We are excited to announce that on September 6 from 5 pm – 7 pm, author Nancy Naigle will be at the library for a meet and greet and book signing. Nancy Naigle wrote the Boot Creek series as well as the Adams Grove series and other books. We are excited to announce that on September 15 from 3 pm – 5 pm, author Jim Vaughn will be at the library for a book talk and book signing. Mr. Vaughn wrote “The Dome in the Valley,” a story of the iconic West Baden Springs Hotel. His website has more information about the book: http://www.domeinthevalley.com/

Bicentennial Fact of the Week

In order to celebrate the Indiana Bicentennial, we will be sharing a Fact of the Week. This week’s fact:

Helix was once a town in Orange County, Indiana. It was located where Tucker Lake now is, and it is therefore underwater. The town had a saw mill, post office, general store, saloon, and a blacksmith shop.
